Virginia Ryan is a fiction writer and essayist who lives in the woods of Cape Cod.

Her work includes a novel-in-progress, short fiction, and essays that have appeared in Embark, Broad River Review, Adelaide, Heartwood, Sky, Anak Sastra, and other literary journals and magazines.  Her experiences as a Peace Corps volunteer, journalist, housing/social justice advocate, caterer, yoga instructor, and single parent influence her stories.

She holds an MFA from Lesley University in Creative Writing and did her undergrad work in journalism and political science at George Washington University.

When she’s not writing, she raises chickens, putzes around in the kitchen, and spends as much time outside as she can.
